We just got to Van’s and Elle has nice shiner. Her eye has been swelling all day. We took her to the urgent care and it looks like she has a nasty bug bite.

A few drugs and the Doc says that sucker should go down by tomorrow.

When people ask, I’m just going to tell them she got in a fight at day care and you should see the other kids face.

Elle’s name is a palindrome and I think she has taken it to heart. Elle has this very interesting habit of doing things backward or the opposite. She reads books upside down. She says green light “stop” and red light go. She asks to have her window put up, when she wants it down and down when she want is up. She wants her jacket off because it’s too cold and wants her jacket on because it’s too hot. ellE does a number of thing backwards and just maybe, it’s not by mistake.

They say names have no impact on the a child’s personality or lot in life. With this palindrome, I’m not so sure.

We’re driving to the store the other day when Ellen hears an odd noise coming from the back. I turn around to find Kenna licking the bottom of her flip flops. What the . . . ?

I’ve heard of kids doing a lot of odd things but, liking the bottom of her shoes? That’s a new one. Who knows maybe she knows something we don’t.
